First View of the Battle of Patapsco Neck

Dedicated to those who lost their friends in defense of their country.

After burning Washington, British troops landed at North Point on the Patapsco Neck. Marching toward Baltimore, the British encounter a force of Maryland militia at Boulden’s Farm. The militia were defeated after a hard fight, but not before the British commander General Ross was killed by a sniper shown at the upper right.
This extremely rare etching was drawn, engraved and published by Corporal Andrew Duluc, whose unit first encountered the British troops at the small log house at the lower right. Presented in a period frame and eglomise mat. 19.5” x 23.5”; sight size 17” x 13”. Period but not original frame.
